Responsibilities:
• department management (reporting 3 people); department structure optimization;
• tasks allocation to team members; supervision and personnel performance control; crisis management;
• internal reporting system establishment;
• general coordination of key supply chain processes (demand planning and inventory management, external and internal purchasing, external logistics, inbound logistics, customs issues; profitability control; pricing and distribution policy);
o assessment of the company’s logistics needs; logistics costs planning and budgeting;
o regular analyses of logistics services market, negotiating and signing agreements with new 3PL providers (transportation via Europe, warehouses (Finland and Germany);
o product assortment defining and strategic planning of purchases;
o analyses of current market prices level vs. estimated cost of goods; profitability control; making adjustments to purchasing plans according to market situation;
o strategic planning of stock replenishments, both from suppliers and from own Finnish warehouse;
o overall control over goods receipt (delivery schedule, full set of documents, claims settlements, if necessary);
o landed cost of goods calculation and selling price control;
• financial control over settlements with suppliers and 3PL providers (prices’ negotiating, invoices’ approval, claims and other disputes settlements);
• monitoring changes in legislation and implementing relevant logistics schemes adjustments;
• participation in internal projects on overhead cost reduction and increase in supply chain effectiveness and transparency.
Achievements:
• bidding procedures (tender) had been conducted among 3PL providers had been held; a number of direct contracts with 3PL providers had been signed and 2 consolidating warehouses were arranged in Finland; as a result logistics costs on goods processing and storage have been significantly reduced;
• lead-time of goods to Russia had been reduced after storage facilities reassessment and relocation of one of the warehouses;
• logistics module was added into ERP-system (info on goods’ physical volume and pack size data);
• new system of goods-in-transit accounting was introduced;
• landed cost calculation approach formalized for different products groups;
• communication of transit information to customers had been introduced.
