• Added value to the merchant’s business activities by identifying opportunities for proactive discussions with the client regarding his business, growth strategies and recommendations. Managed a portfolio of about 30 clients from various industries.
• Defined selection criteria for clients, ideal deal type and partner profile. Developed and maintained relation-ships with the client’s key executives. Served as the lead point of contact for all operational aspects of the merchant processing relationship during the contract life
• Screened potential partners based on available secondary data sources, primary research, initial negotiations
• Defined negotiation strategy based on developed business cases. Led negotiations with potential merchants to align on key terms
• Led internal negotiation process with all internal stakeholders to align on key terms (Regulatory, Pricing, Marketing, Commercial, Legal, etc.)
• Monitored and executed contract commitments and performance. Ensured that contracts have sufficient resources. Supported the Operations team to negotiate contract renewals, extensions and price increases
• Developed and maintained databases on potential merchants and partner selection criteria.
• Monitored competitor activity in defined market sectors and ensured that any necessary action is taken to counter threats to the client base
• Ensured full understanding of any changes and development in legislation and working practices that may affect the company’s operations and/or present new opportunities
