Here is my CV for You could figure my proficiency in written English. I’m 28, male, Russian. I hold a diploma from Tatar State University of Humanities and Education or whatever it is called now. (I believe it has become an institute within the Kazan State University). Anyway I am holding a degree of a teacher of the English language. I also studied abroad during the period of 3 academic years. It was in Egypt, I was a student at the department of the English literature at University of Cairo. (I did not graduate from that educational institution for some personal reasons but still I believe that was quite an important experience in understanding a “non-Russian’ system of education). And to finish up with my academic activities I must admit that I also have completed a post-graduate course of aspirantura at the department of International law at the Institute of Economics, Management and Law, Kazan. I have published several academic papers and few are to be published in future. So, if You try to count how many times I’ve mentioned the word “academic” in the previous paragraphs you’ll have to admit that I am quite an academic guy)). Now, let us move from the part of my CV which I should title “My Universities” (an obvious reverence to M. Gorky) to the main one, which is to contain my working experience information. During the period from September 2008 till October 2011 I held the position of the teacher of the Latin language at the eponymous department at Kazan State Medical University. I dare not say that I read ancient classics in the original but my knowledge of Italian and certain capacity for languages let me feel confident in the “wilds” of Latin grammar. Moreover, this time I daresay that I was a competent and popular teacher in witness whereof I can provide any letter of confidence from my former colleagues and supervisor. So, I can argue that I do know what a system of higher education in Russia is with all its pros and contras. Another important part of my working experience is the following. In January 2009 a group of 3 foreign language department graduates (including your humble servant) set a private language school in Kazan. We did not have sufficient funding, so it was not easy at all. Nevertheless we managed, and now one can become our student. We had to work not only as teachers, but in the same time perform the duties of managers, promoters etc. So, for the second time during my letter, I daresay that I have sufficient experience in academic management, scheduling, quality assurance, project management, team building in short this all was within my bailiwick. As for my teaching experience, I taught English and Italian. Of course, the English language is my main specification, and I believe I am quite well-versed in the modern approaches to foreign language teaching. I’m all the way familiar with modern programs and manuals for English language teaching and methods of preparation for international exams of language proficiency. About a year and a half ago I myself passed the TOEFL IBT exam, but to tell You the truth, I am not satisfied with my humble grade (101), and strongly believe I am capable of more)). Ok, being afraid that I’ve bored You, my reader, to death with my lengthy story I’ll try to end it up. To convince You that I am the best applicant for Your vacancy I will admit, that I am well educated, responsible and sociable. I am IT competent, relatively young and ambitious and ready for business trips wherever You are going to send me. Oooh, I forgot, I’m hard working, really, I am)) – I know it is a “must say’ thing in every CV. To describe me as a person one can call me an introvert, but I can be very talkative when I’m supposed to (now, in the end of my merely 1000-word letter You can be sure of that). I love reading and want to know more about fine arts. I am self-confident all right.
