Continuation of bachelor thesis research with Dr. Frawley. Studying the relationship between solid particle erosion in pipe elbows and a generalised form of the Stokes number. Simulations conducted using STAR-CCM+.
Revised the design of on-site assembly/disassembly tools for overload valves of high pressure steam turbines in accordance with the relevant standards to achieve CE compliance. Existing 3D parts and drawings were updated to include safety modifications. CE compliance documentation generated: new assembly instructions and drawings, Failure Mode Effects Analysis report, mechanical integrity calculations. Liaised with production engineers in factories in Poland, Germany and China to gather data on how lifting and turning was conducted. From this knowledge, lifting and turning specification documents and a stable lifting point locator tool were developed. These encompassed manoeuvring of the valve casings through machining, internals assembly, transport, and on-site installation procedures. Gained extensive CAD modelling and part management experience using CATIA V5 and PDM/PLM systems (Siemens Teamcenter).
