Principal Magnetics Engineer, 2008-2009 Drive Magnetic Innovation throughout Emerson Embedded Power Generate Cost Cutting through design, materials and process improvements Act as SME for any magnetic related issues. Achievement: US Patent # 7456717; Low cost power transformer used in mobile phone chargers Magnetics Team Leader/ Manager, 2000-2008 Magnetics Engineer, 1996-2000 Direct reports: 2 Mechanical Engrs., 9 Electrical Engrs., 6 Technicians Primary Roles: Provide magnetic design services to all power supply design teams Design Mechanical accessories of magnetic components using PRO_E & AutoCAD Conduct component evaluations- magnetic raw materials & assemblies Perform Failure Analysis and handle technical aspect during suppliers’ audit Generate and releases BOM and Specification of magnetic raw mats and assemblies Ensure BOM includes at least 3 mfg sources for each part/ raw mats Manage generation and releases of ECO, ECRs and other std control documentation Manage purchase and store keeping of raw mats/components for design iterations, prototype, EVT, DVT and pilots assembly builds. Develop and maintain preferred mfg list and list of new potential suppliers for development Ensure assembly/component compliant to safety, EIS, manufacturing, RoHs, WEEE, etc Attend reviews in design, DFMEA, Cost reduction, etc Visit factories and review manufacturing process and provide process improvements Act as the subject matter expert for any issues related to magnetic components/ assemblies
