Role: Head Geologist [Ovoca Gold plc | Period: Nov 2011 - Feb 2013] Epithermal gold-silver mining and exploration management from corporate Moscow office reporting to the CEO, supervising one Chief Geologist, four senior geologists & technical support staff, consultants and contractors. Budget assembly and administration. Signing off on company reports to Irish and London Stock Exchanges as JORC competent person (OVG). Management of conversion of Russian to JORC resources. Management of database construction & implementation of GIS and mining software. Management of scoping and prefeasibility study on two resources. Exploration on large greenfields areas. Mining and exploration program design. Budget development and approval. Board of Director presentations. Completed sale of 1.2 million ounce gold resource to Polymetal plc. Role: Senior Geologist to Country Manager [Natasa Mining plc, UMC Energy plc |Period: Mar 2009 - Nov 2011] Project assessments for investor company Boards of Directors in Australia, London - UK and Monaco. Due diligence, JORC competent person reports on gold, silver, copper, uranium and iron ore resources. Supervised small teams of Geologists, Engineers, Surveyors and Accountants. Developed and managed budgets and logistics. Liaison and negotiation with Government Department leaders to Ministerial level. Contract writing and negotiation. Resource assessment and estimation, exploration potential, drill targeting. Geological input into open pit and underground conceptual mining plans, scoping and prefeasibility studies. Two gold-silver projects were acquired, one in Kazakhstan & the other Tajikistan after my due diligence work produced positive evaluations. Both projects were sold for significant capital gain after value-adding resource increases and studies were completed. Specific Projects undertaken include: • Country Manager - [1 year] Reporting to CEO of AIM code NSN. Recommended purchase of a 1.1 million ounce gold resource accepted. Managed prefeasibility, design of drill programs, channel and open pit bulk sampling programs for comparison with historical grade control and production data; metallurgical sampling programs, consultant and contractor management; Kazakhstan porphyry-copper appraisals. This project sold for significant capital gain.
