My main task was to grant guarantees to clients or potential clients operating in Russia. Most of them concerned payment guarantees, standard letters of credit, SBLC, guarantees and counter-guarantees and other different types of less important and widespread ones, as well as IBORs such as LIBOR, EURIBOR and TIBOR rates.
I was involved in meetings and conferences with other local banks in order to make new agreements or redefine earlier ones, as well as in analyzing our applicants' status in order to apply commissions and coverage for the whole financial durations. I also played a role in customer service and interaction with other banks, acting as an interface to ensure the success of the agreements, as well as preparation of weekly reports for our Headquarter in Italy.
At the end, I took care of guiding a new intern in August to make sure that his operation in the office was efficient, even after my departure, by explaining all of the activity.
The work experience at Ubi Banca allowed me:
- To improve my communication skills thanks to the relationships that I have built and developed with my colleagues in the office, but also by interfacing with those of other banks, in order to ensure that the various transactions are successful;
- To improve ability to work in a group;
- To improve my knowledge of English and learn Russian;
- To build my own efficient working method;
- ability to persist and work under pressure, especially in periods where transactions were very frequent.
- ability to work beyond the working time, in order to anticipate the next day's work and avoid overloading with activities.
- ability to lead new interns and personally take care of their inclusion in the team
- experience in the banking sector, completing assigned tasks successfully and gaining the trust of the team
- ability to take on responsibilities, as for a short period of time I had to personally provide for all the activities of the trade finance branch in the absence of the Director and his first assistant, due to institutional affairs abroad.
